No,sorry,you would need a hdd hack for that,and unfornuataly there isn't any at the moment.but who knows,maybe next year someone will make a break-through..

You can do some customizations for free. There are some free backgrounds and gamerpics on there. It just be can't whatever pics you want for free. You'll have a limited selection in what you can use.

Even with the custom colors, ect... you STILL must be logged into live for it to switch. I hate that sh**

No you don't. My colors change when I'm not logged into Live. I just have to be signed in with my profile. However, if you move stuff you bought on Live to another 360, you will have to be logged into Live for you to access it.
