Hi there i had a virus which compromised my pcs security so my isp told me to reinstall windows on all of my computers (3), 2 reinstalled windows fine but the 3rd has the problem.

I begin to install put my code in and then as it starts to install i get this.

Setup was unable to retrieve or save information about your disk drives. Access is denied. I wondered if any1 had come across this b4 or could offer any help at all. It windows with sp2 i think.

Your best bet would be to find out what drive it is (who made it), go to the manufacturer's website and download the diagnostic ISO for CD, or image for floppy..and do a low level format of the drive.

This will wipe the drive clean, including the master boot record. XP setup will then see it as a new drive.
