I am looking at dumping my iLo DVDRH04 and looking for a very good DVR w/ harddrive. My iLo worked great for about a year and now has decided it doesn't want to record to DVD. Won't play stuff copied to DVD (that itself recorded). Likes to destroy my files when it defrags the drive. And now leaves a loud hum on the recorded material. I've done all of the firmware updates and hacks to no avail. Anybody out there, who is currently using a DVR that has worked well and has given them problems that could give me some advice? My experience has been that there isn't such a unit. But I am hoping that technology has changed since and that may there is a manufacturer that makes a unit that lasts longer than 6 months to a year. Thanks!
