So the PS3 is now less than a month away which makes it legal to list the pre-orders on EBay.
However, the rules are AMAZINGLY STRICT. Here is what one guy says on his listing.
I have met the following requirements in order to pre-sell a PS3: (these rules apply to me the seller, not you the buyer). (http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-Playstation-3-PS3-System-Console-60GB-Pre-Sale_W0QQitemZ230040746920QQihZ013QQcategoryZ62054QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
1. I must have a Feedback of 50 or more.
2. My Feedback score must be 98% or above.
3. I may only list one system. I may list 1 PlayStation 3 and 1 Nintendo Wii with a photo of my pre-order receipt for each system.
4. I must accept PayPal as my only payment option.
5. I must include a photo of my receipt in the listing.
6. No Buy It Now will be allowed.
7. No one day listings will be allowed.
This is freaking insane. If these rules are true, I cannot list a PS3 since though my feedback is exactly 100%, it is only 12, not 50! Argh.
Why does EBay care? They are the ones getting all the publicity from this, therefore increasing their hits. They should NOT be able to do this.
Can someone contact an EBay representative about this please?
And are these rules only for pre-orders, and once the console ships, will these rules be lifted??

yeah but they helped prevent a whole lot of scammers from tricking people of of thier money i think that was a great idea
1.the feedback is to make sure the person is a trusted seller on ebay
2.paypal lets people get thier money back if some one try's to scam them out of thier money
3.the photo's is at least some sort of valid prof wich can actuly be check and confirmed
4get psp's im on dat 360 now cha dig!!

They can do it. When you signed up with Ebay you agreed to their rules. Whatever they may be.
As for them lifting them once the systems are made available who knows, but with a such a shortage it wouldnt suprise me if they keep them.
Dont let the door hit you on the way out, beacause I dont want ass prints on my new door!

As I understand, this is for pre-orders only. So once the console officially comes out, these rules should be lifted and it will sell as usual.
And BTW, getting ahold of the eBay reps is extremely hard, it takes days for them to reply to inquiries. WTF.

well, while the PS2's general lifetime is 5 years, Sony is hoping the PS3 will last 10.

When and for how much are you all going to start bidding your PS3s at? Also, what type of shipping is best?

Dear Mikhail,
Thank you for writing in regard to the listing of a Playstation 3.
I recognize your frustration and want to responsively address your

your pre-order receipt included in the listing for each.
4. Buy It Now option will not be permitted during presale.
5. One day listings will not be permitted during presale.
Violation of these guidelines may cause further action to be taken up
to
and including suspension of your account.
When listing your item there are steps you can take to better protect
yourself as well as other members of the eBay community. As you are
required to include a photograph of your actual store receipt; be sure
to block out any personal information such as credit card numbers.
As for when the item is released and you have it in your possession,
the
