ok im trying to learn how to backup my own games i have a hitachi 59 dvd-rom and im running maximus-opa extreme stealth 2.2 but i keep getting this error in xbox backup creator


the hitachi GDR-3120L dosent have proper support for unlocking the game partition this process will fail if you choose to continue


how do i get proper support

also when i open the disc in windows it dosent show me game files it shows me an audio folder and a video folder inside the video folder are six video files totaling 7mb

hitachi drives are not good for ripping games. i would go on ebay, and buy a samsung pc dvd-rom (model "sh-d162c")if you flash this pc drive with "kreon firmware v0.81" it will read xbox 360 backups and use schtrom360extract3.0 to rip the games, it does everything for you, flawlessly. hope this helps

but how does this work? say i bought this samsung drive from ebay,then what? how do i play backups,do i have to place this is my 360?

No, it's a pc drive. You can leave it in your computer. With the kreon firmware, it can read the 360 discs. Any other drive cant. That's why you only see the audio and video folders.

In xbox backup creator, under the options tab, did you click your 360 drive? And also, doesn't it have to be in mode b when ripping games?
