I don't know if there really are pros and cons. I look at it as it works or it doesn't work.

Personally, I use AnyDVD + DVD Shrink for the vast majority of my movies. Sometimes I use Nero Recode 2 to burn as well.

I have yet to have any problems with AnyDVD though.

Hello all. I would recommend that you use AnyDVD and CloneDVD. I've not had any problems with any movies. Hope this helps. Laters

IMHO there is no best program when it comes to Sonys, just becuz the three major ways will work everytime.

If u know what u are doing and follow the guides if u dont then ANYbody will be able to back up ANY dvd with RipIT4Me or the DVDFab+VobBlanker+Shrink or Recode+ImgBurn or ANYdvd+Any program

There are tons of them. Some are retail, some are totally free, free but extremely useful. DVDFAB Decrypter (free) and VobBlanker (for advanced user, not necessary sometime, but it's wise), RipIt4Me (free, DVD Decrypter + FixVTS), AnyDVD, DVDIdle Pro, DVDFAB Platinum, DVD Region+CSS Free, etc.

As long as RipIt4Me and DVDFAB Decrypter are available, I'll never never never ever buy any retail decrypting engine(s). However, that's just me. There's really no use in buying any retail ripper/decrypting engines where free tools can do the same thing.

Every Tuesday, I come here and I see tons of newbies saying; "I can't backup this, I can't rip this movie, I can't backup that, etc." However, I've noticed that some of them are using AnyDVD, yet some are using free tools. I'm not trying to pull anyone's leg here, so with that saying, it's not the program, it's the users. If you're an advanced user and know what your doing, then there's no such thing as "I can't backup this, I can't backup that, etc." regardless if it's RipIt4Me, DVDFAB Decrypter or AnyDVD.

Ditto's.

If the problem is not the media (disc) it can be backed up.

Cheers.
