I purchased AvyDVD and CloneDVD2 today. But for some reason every time the DVD is transcoded and being written to a new blank DVD I get the same error message every time only 1% into the write process:
"Write process failed. Bad Media. Replace Media and try again."
Am I doing something wrong? I have tried blank discs from three new packages and get the same error every time.

Try good quality media, i.e., TYs or Verbatims....

I think that you may have a firmware issue with your burner drive. I would consider checking to see if there is an update for your drive.
Visit this link and look up your drive to see if you have the latest version.

When a program tells you that you are using bad media. The first thing you should check out the actual manfacturer of the actual disc.
Use this program to tell you the actual manfacturer and then post your results here and then we will tell you what to do from then.

I ran the DVD Identifier you sent. The disks are HP LightScribe
DVD-R'sanufactured by CMC Magnetics Corp.
Manufactiurer ID: CMC MAG AE1.
I have also tried DVD-r's from Staples, Verbatim, FujiFilm, HP (non-lightscribe), and 3M. I get the same error message every time. I do not have any other DVD ripper or copier on my machine. I have deleted both Any DVD and CloneDVD2 and reinstalled them several times. Same result every time

Maybe your burner does not like DVD-R Media. Have you tried DVD+R?
9mmRuger1 has a very good point too. Update the firmaware for your burner. With the newer media out, this is very important. May I ask, Why are you using DVD-R format anyway? DVD+R is a better format.
Post what exact burner you have and maybe we can help you with the firmware file to update with.
Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

Quote: Manufacturer ID: CMC MAG AE1.
This is your problem change your media to vertbitam or Tayio Yuden or ritek even. C mags are the worst media out there. These will give you errors all the time.

Anything made by CMC Mag. sucks. I stay as far away from them as humanly possible. I prefer TY or Verbatim. I find that the Fuji branded DVD's I buy are almost always TY media coded, and never had a problem with those either.

Thank you for your help with this problem, I can use DVD+ or DVD-, so I will swithch to the + format. My DVD burner is an HP DVD Writer 640c. I also have an A-Open DVD+/- R/RW Model DUW1608/ARR that I am going to hook up externally if I can find the box to make an internal drive into an external one. I think this is a better drive.
