HP dvd840i Super Multi DVD Writer

Just getting some idea if this dvd writer would be any good at backing up my 360 games. Looking for some input from some experienced guys that might be able to shed some light about this burner for me. Thanks!

from what i here the pioneer dvr111d is the only way to go

The pioneer isn't the only way to go.. I have a Sont DRU-810a with a Hitachi 0059DJ drive and my burns are 100% working. Just make sure you can booktype DL to DVD-ROM and you'll be ok. Use Verbatim discs though.

menace is right... alot of dl burners will work (but not all). The pioneer is just mainly recommended to people who need a new burner and can order online. This is because you can get it for around $40 shipped and it auto-bitsets to dvd-rom.

I have a Sony DRU-710a and a Benq 1655 (along with a pio. 111d) and they all work great.

I'd suggest that you make sure your burner is running the latest firmware then give a backup a try. And stick with Verbatium DVD+R DL's.
