Being in a hurry I didn't pay attention, I just grabbed some verbatim at best buy and went on. I noticed when I got home it doesn't indicate a speed. Does that mean I have 1x :( .Thanks.

Generally, Yes, if there is no speed indicated on the packaging or especially the disc, it would suggest a 1x writing speed.

Most Verbs are 2x speed. If you burn with Nero it will show you the options you have after inserting the disc and going to 'burn'.
