Bad batch of Taiyo Yudens?

Ordered some Taiyo Yuden Silver Thermal 8x DVD-R from supermediastore.com and my quality tests are pretty crappy.

Final Fantasy 12 burned at 4x



Bully burned at 4x



I've heard a lot of good things about Taiyo Yudens on these forums so I'm wondering if maybe I'm doing something wrong or if I just got a bad batch. Should I try burning at 8x?

These may or may not be playable but I was under the impression that these are horrible scores for TY's. Any help is appreciated.

Didnt look very hard for an Edit button did you? Top right hand corner of your posts; paper & pencil icon.

Personally I don't rate TY discs, had 0% success rate from them. Very thin coating on the discs that you can see through!
Compared to 2000+ games burnt to RITEK G05 with 100% success rate, and there's no way you're gonna see through that disc!

I also don't see the point in doing a quality test. Best way to check quality is to try it in the PS2. If it works, then it works. If it doesn't then it doesn't. Why do a quality test? You've burnt the disc anyway, so if it's poor quality & doesn't work, then there's nothing you can do about it with that disc. Just seems a waste of time.
