We just got a Yukon with a Panasonic DVD player in it and I noticed as far as recordable dvds go it only plays -R dvds. The only kind that I have are TDK and I noticed that they skip real bad. Any suggetions on what brand to buy?

btw- the burn speed on all these dvds was 2.4X. Don't know if that has anything to do with it?

These sites are very reputatable.There's a lot of places that sell fake tys.

#2 Verbatim!!

Bestbuy and Office max have these on sale from time to time. Or get them from the above sites.


#3 Japanese sony and fuji:
Look at the outer shrink wrapper for Made in japan on the -1x-16x for the Ty-G03's. Bestbuy/office max/and staple's have sales on these all the time.

#4 Japanese maxell:
If purchasing media locally,check the shrink wrapper for Made in Japan. These are made by Hitachi.

#5: Any other brand,ignore!!!!


TDK has some decent manufacturers and they have some crappy manufacturers. You're rolling the dice when you're purchasing TDK. Same goes for Memorex/HP/Philips/Imation/Dynex/etc

What's the brand name and model # of your DVD-RW drive?

Edit: Kman,those TDK's were burned at 2.4x?

Some of these burners give more errors when burning slow. Let us know what burner you have.

Not very comp savy. DVD drive is a Sony. Don't know the model #?

The TDKs were 8X but I burned the movies at 2.4X. Maybe that was the problem?

Model # and firmware version of your burner
MID code- Like Cmc mag f01 or TTH-002 etc.
