What game are you trying to burn?
What kind of mod have you got on your ps2?

You should be OK with what you're doing then. What you can try is the following.

1. Clean the lens.
If this doesn't work as a last resort you can.
2. Adjust the voltage pots on the laser as Back-ups are harder to read then standard original discs. This needs to be done carefully and as a last resort but if you're sure you've burnt the discs according to the guides on this website then this will probably sort out the problem.

For info on this go here.

Good luck

p.s. My back-ups work better with the console standing on its end and after its warmed up a bit.

Ok now I cleaned the laser lens and adjusted the
voltage pots on the laser but still no change.
And I tried to burn at different speeds but it
only burns at 4x or lower when I try to burn at
higher speeds. The driver firmware is at its latest
and is suppost to burn at speeds of 8x and lower.

This is all the info that I have.
Thanks again for help.

Does your console still play DVD based and CD based originals OK?

What kind of discs are you using to burn onto -R, +R, -RW's?

Lets make sure you've got a proper iso image, that might be the problem. Is it a downloaded iso or are you ripping it from an original disc?

Have you ever played a copied game on your ps2 , one made by someone else ?

If not lets see whether that works.
If you're in the UK I can post you a back-up I have made and we can start from there?
