so you can just put it on a CD-R, pop it in the xbox, and run the Ultimate Installer or whatever from that? i have a friend that is going to lend me Action Replay, and AUR, but he is stalling, and i am so anxious.

no, unless you hack the firmware. unmodded xbox's won't read CD-R

OK if your talking about the XBOX 1 then no you can't just pop in a CD-R and boot but many XBOX's will read CD-R's/CD-RW's.

This still won't let you softmod the machine but as you said you are getting hold of an Action Replay and an exploitable game (007AUF, Splinter Cell or Mech Assault) then you can softmod. After you have run the softmod installer (by booting the original game and loading the special gamesave) you can then insert one of many installers (on CD-R/CD-RW) and install extra dash's, update your softmod and install games. My advice is to use the NDURE softmod as it offers protection using XBOX live. I would also recommend you look at installing XBMC, excellent media player software. Good Luck

okay, i called my buddy last night, i will have possession of AAR and Action Replay soon, so can you guys tell me where i find the Dashboards, and stuff, and when they are in .rar format, do i need to extract it?
