Screensaver from AVI?

Whatup everybody - wanted to know if anyone could suggest a good screensaver authoring program (there is an overwhelming amount of choices...) that could best create a screensaver from an AVI file. I think i read something about converting to .swf and then to screensaver to compress it? The AVI file is mostly 2d simple graphics so maybe this would be a better route...

any help would be awesome!
