Xbox 1 backups with XBC v2.3 (still struggling!)

Hi
I am still trying to back up my xbox 1 games with xbox back up creator v2.3, I have the 162-c drive in my pc with kreon firmware, but whenever it gets to the copying of the security sector my drive starts to make a funny noise (like a clunking noise) and after about 5 mins i get a message saying that 'error reading disk, all labels will be set to 00000, continue, abort or retry?' This happens for halo 2 and for splinter cell (only xbox 1 games i have)
When i back up my 360 games it works like a charm with no errors and is done in about 7 mins.

Any idea as to why this would be happening? In the options I have changed the drive to my specific 1 and the game type to xbox 1 but still no joy & its getting annoying now :-(
