First of all, I'm from Canada, and it's hard to get a good deal on DVD-Rs. I don't even have my A05 yet (it's being shipped) and i already have trouble finding good DVD-Rs at a good price. Princo is all over Ebay.ca for around 1.8CAD. Should i even try the DVD-Rs, i read alot about roiting DVD-Rs and burning problems. I want a DVD-r that's going to last but i don't want to pay 5.99. So what's the deal, is the media that bad i should just stay away? Or is is worth giving a shot?

Does anyone know any good deals in Canada? A good source for DVD-s, Thanks, Adam NS, Cape Breton, Canada

Princo 1X, white top and purpleish bottom, i think

Bring it on!

ps, is there a meida that's low in cost and works good or even ok? Seems like people love a brand and others hate it. It's mainly for DVDs, Not copys but edited ones on Avid, just have to make alot of copies.

Ritek is that just a really good brand, like on ebay they have Riteks but don't give the series number. Does that matter much?

Hmmm...it may. i'd tend to avoid those discs as they cannot be guaranteed Grade A.

The first discs I bought for my pioneer burner were the princo 4x and thet were shocking. It was always FREEZING on the last chapter. I totally agree with oriphus about the ritek (unbranded) G04s. I have not had one coaster with these discs.

I have burned over 200 Princo DVD-Rs at 1x in my Pioneer AO3 and over 100 Princo DVD-Rs in my Pioneer AO5 and 105 drives at 4x. I have made exactly 3 coasters, and I am pretty sure that they were my fault. I still prefer Ritek GO4 but I have had excellent results with the Princo media. BTW, I have purchased the Princos on eBay and I use MeritLine for my Riteks.

I have to say, I'm surprised to read the number of Canadians who seem to have pronlems getting media (good or bad)

There must be an opportunity for someone out there to make a name for themselves surely ?

Anyway, the word is RITEK. Find a reputable supplier, and pay the going rate.

That way, you'll end up owning something that works.
