i have tried following multiple tutorials and i have failed in getting this to work properly
they can be found on www.xbox-scene.com
i pluged everything in i get power to the drive i plug the ide cable from the regular drive to the new one and i get error message 12
what do i have to do to get this to work all help will b greatly appriciated
the dvd drive im trying to plug in is the samsung sm- 308 and i am using the evo x dashboard if you need any more information ask for it

Are you trying to do a complete replacement? I don't think you can do that! You still need to original installed and you just piggyback off that! Correct me if i'm wrong!?

the manuals ive read say that u dont have to buy a new ide cable
the one in the xbox only has room for the hd and 1 dvd drive

Just so other can learn from your experience's, what BIOS/KERNEL are you running on currently and what are you upgrading to. The more details you give the better others will learn and the more help others can give.

As far as I can remember you need a BIOS/KERNEL with the "NO-DVDROM-HACK" which removes the check for a DVD-ROM.

The X2 BIOS/KERNEL has this if it helps.

im currently FTP with my xbox to remove a game

idk where to get the bios update or the hack

i would tell u my bios but untill the game is remove the xbox must be left undisturbed

i will give u my ccurrent bios asap

until then id apriciate a link to the newest bios and the hack u spoke of if possible
