I've been searching and reading but I cant find a straight answer on how to load linux on my slimline PS2. Can someone just tell me with a simple (or detailed if you can) tutorial how to do this? My resources are:
1) SCPH 75001 PS2
2) Windows computer
3) Multiple usb2.0/firewire DVD/CD Writers
4) PS2 connected to router on network with said computer^
5) Laptop with ethernet port
6) Swap magic v6
7) PSP with multiple 1GB sticks(could be used as external memory?)
8) External USB 2.0/firewire HDDs
9) USB keyboard and mouse
I'll list other resources when I think of them. Can someone please give me a guide how to use linux with what I have.

NOTE: Im wanting to use linux NOT load backups from HDD.

Do you have some experience with a common Linux distribution? I can assure you that 32 MB of system memory is a really thight environment, the OLPC (the small laptop for children that's being developed at MIT) is targeted at 128 MB and is considered underpowerd...
