None that i am aware of. you really have to trust the seller. Only use official Ritek suppliers, you can get a list of these from Ritek Probably.

Hey...Oriphus...have you ever tried Universal dvd-r's? I've heard they are as good as Pioneer's dvd-rs but have never tried them.

To be honest, im always a bit cautious of brands i havent used before. Call me old fachioned, but i like Ritek and have no plans to change, unless i becmoe mega rich, then ill buy the pioneer own brand. Though, if im mega rivh, i think i could afford to buy 2 of every DVD, and wont need to make back ups. Hmmm...... (dreamin)

Hello
I don't believe in grade A. Most of the time the users give it that rating. There reall isn't a standardized test that all disc manufactures use. So one companies grade A if reported will be completely different than another. Best I know of that few will argue less then grade A are verbatim, data life plus. But these are crazy expensive.

Actually, you are wrong. manufacturers do give their discs grades. Grade A's have no defects in the batch, whereas grade B's, may have slight defects in some of the media in the batch.

Sorry what I meant was that it is not a standard test that all manufactures use. Like Ritek may say that if it performs at 95% its grade A and Princo may say 90% and Verbatim may say 99%. Not all companies use the same guidelines, standards ete. So without an official standard test, then I have no faith in the rating system.

True there are variations, but why take a risk with grade B material, when you can get grade A for little or no more.
