60Hz NTSC and 60HZ PAL...

Right, I'm a little confused about the difference 60hz modes available. I seemed to think that my TV that I currently have doens't support 60hz modes because when choose these modes (or booting up a NTSC game) it would appear in Black and White. However, when getting my xbox 360 and setting it to 60hz mode I was suprised to see it worked, and more suprised to see 60hz only games like Oblivion working too. Is this because it is PAL 60hz and there is a difference between NTSC 60hz and PAL 60hz or did I simply not have a good enought SCART cable on my PS2?

i thought that PAL = 50hz
and NTSC =60hz

well PAL games were always 50hz whilst NTSC games were always done in 60hz,but the 360 has an option for PAL 60hz which my TV is fine withb

What is often known as "PAL-60" ("PAL-60/525" or "Pseudo PAL") is a NTSC 525 line (480i) picture with the PAL colour system.

You need a fully wired RGB Scart lead for the PS2 to display 60Hz signals correctly.

yeh I've looked into into more now and from what I've gathered and read online it seems that my TV does suppoert 60HZ,just I didn't have an RGB SCART cable, must have been a standard one, seems as though some TV's that have more than one input only have one of them that actually will convert and display the image correctly. My TV didn't roll, which is a sign that it is supported just that I didn't have the correct cable!
