anyone know if apple dvd-r 2x will burn fine using a sony dru-500ax ? i will be using it to backup some ps2 games. i can get a great deal on them at my job, but not sure if they will burn fine in a pc.

Hello
I would try one and see if it works. Apple in last two years has been more compatible with PC's. The biggest test would be to see if Nero, or what ever burning software you have can reconize it. If not then you know that you can't write to it. If not too expensive, try one and tell me how it works.

Apple DVD-R work fine in a Sony drive, although I've never used one to burn anything but data....

I have used Apple 2x and 4x media on my pc with Sony 500ux drive. They work great, and playback well in stand alone player and playstation. I have used Nero 5.5x to burn with no issues. I have found www.apple.com the cheapest with free ground shipping.
