I am trying to make a builk-up copy of a DVD. When I run it through DVD Shrink, it reaches a point about 1/2-way through it and crashes. The DVD apparently has a problem. Is there a way to get around this realizes that I may lose that small portion of the DVD with the problem. Thanks.

Try ripping with DVDFab decrypter (free), it's very good with DVDs that tend to give shrink a hard time.

You can get the latest version here;
http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm

If you're able to successfully rip the video files to your hard drive, open them using shrink and proceed as you normally would with the backup process.
