ok i use swap magic for all my booting needs and up untill yesterday i was happy but today the shit hit the fan.
basically nothing will boot even my old stuff, as in the stuff that used to work has any one else experienced this or like found a solution. i did manage to get my ff12 working as good as it used to. and i did change my media to phillips. but the guy in the shop said phillips were just as good as verbatium (they were sold out of verbatium.
so like is it the media or does that just eventually just happen to you ps2? plz reply

Its most likely laser related. Try cleaning your laser.

i use swap magic 3.6 and use datawrite dvds to burn with as they are cheap and i have never had any problems with cheap DVDs. It could be laser related, allthough i have used swap magic for my v8 bulky old style console for yonks without any problems, once i had to realign the laser height about two years ago ( a common problem in the bulky ps2) so if its an old style ps2 then just open it up and turn the little white cog a couple of clicks to the left.

The only problem i found was with the more recent games they dont boot using swap magic 3.6 so i bought Swap Magic Coder 3.8 from an outfit called www.slimtool.co.uk since then i have had no problems with the latest games, i dont bother with the cheat function on the coder 3.8 version but it solved alot of compatibility issues with the newer releases.
