I have searched everywhere and found multiple guides, but none have answered this question for me. I have a V5/6 ps2. I have swap magic 3.6. I have the 40 gig sony hdd. I want to transfer my backed up iso to my hdd via FTP. im have a laptop. is there a way to transfer isos from my laptop to hdd without hooking the hdd up to my laptop? is there a way to do it with a memory card exploit? i know you can burn the iso to dvd, then back it up by swap disk, but that kinda goes against the reason to back them up. does anyone have a link to a guide on how to do this? also, i store most of my elfs on my psp and only have an elf loader on my memory card. thanks for any help on this matter in advance :)
What you need is a network adaptor with the harddrive attached to your ps2 and connect it with an ethernet cable to your laptop. Then you need the hdld_srv.elf on your MC and hdl dump or hdl dumb.
After you load the hdld_srv from your MC go into hdl dumb and select the iso you want to load from your hard drive, give it name and then install.
yes, that is a great idea, and i will use that. but do you know how i can FTP the files without hooking my hdd to my laptop? i can get the FTP elf on my mem card or usb device. but i need to know if the elf must be on the hdd to work, or can it just be on memory card?
FTP is a slow transfer method.
Why dont you get yourself an IDE to USB cable.
Slip the HDD out of the PS2, plug in the ide cable (and power supply for the HDD that should come with the adaptor cable)
Plug other end into a USB slot and use a prgram called Winhiip to transfer the iso to the HDD. You can transfer HDD iso to laptop as well for archiving and making room on the PS2 HDD.
Average transfer time is about 4 mins.
