if you kept using bad media then ur expect it to last for about 6 months, how long have you used bad media for? if you use very good media then your expect your ps2 to last at least 4 years, i really dont know but thats what i think.

I was just joking yeah dont use cheap media.
Use Sony or Taiyo Yuden disc for best results.
My PS2 doesnt make any noises with Sony media.
Dont use bundle cheap DVD like the DVD that are on
sale; their good for movies but dont play them on your
PS2 or you shorten the life. I just use it for games.

If u a heavy user, i think your lens will last 6 to 9 month only. then if u are using the original copies, then i think will last for 3 to 4 years maybe.
1 more thing, pls dun use your ps2 to play the ps1 games, and dun use it as dvd player. try to separate it, then your lens will last longer.

Yeah dont play any DVD movies on your ps2. I mean any, pressed or backups DVD movies kill the PS2 laser.
