soft modded xbox problems need help

it was playing fine i dont know if kids messed with the settings or what but now all it wants to do is sign on xbox live it will not boot a disc or anything what can i do to fix this all help appreciated

let me state this a little better now when it starts it shows the regular xbox logo then it says updating xbox live do not turn off console then it goes to xbox live not repsponding try again later and i cannot do anything else but click ok then it goes back saying its trying to update then i got not repsponding again i cant do anything else to it

alright, the reason you cannot connect to live with the microsoft dash is because the modded dash is still on your xbox, and as a default precaution, the modded dash is preventing you from signing into live.
this is a standard, and there is no way you can connect to live from your microsoft dash, to say... make a new account, you will have to take the modded dash off in order to view live from the ms dash!

what i would do is just remove the mods if the xbox will not play any games whatsoever, and then reinstall them, because somehting obiously has gone wrong!

thats the problem tho it want let me do anything to it at all how could i remove it then soft mod it again? cause it worked good for a while im not sure if someone messed with it and tried live or what

if you can run splinter cell or what ever game you used to mod your xbox.. chose remove softmod
then pop it out and put it back in and choose install softmod

thats the thing though soon as it boots up the xbox screen it goes to that message i explained to you and i cant do anything else at all

Does the microsoft logo appear under your Xbobx logo on startup? If it does, just hotswap and reinstall your dash!

yes it appears like normal but heads straight to update xbox live and thats it any way to fix this ? thanks for the help so far

Turn your xbox on, open up the disc tray, wait until the "intro" finishes and put splinter cell in an shut it quick?
That should help hopefully.

if you have a backup of your eeprom you can use xboxhdm to fix your hard drive
