loading Swap Magic 3.6 Plus from memory card

Hi, I just purchased the swap magic 3.6 plus recently and I want launch the program from my memory card so I dont have to keep swapping...I did this
How to install by the CD image :
First you need to download the files from http://www.swapmagic3.com/smboot.zip
Then you need to unzip the file (SMBOOT.ZIP). Afterwards burn the image file (PS2.ISO) into
a CD and boot it with the SwapMagic3.6. Referring to the file list found in the
"..\SMBOOT\FILE.LST", files in folder "..\SMBOOT" will be installed into the slot1 memory card.
However, you can edit the "..\SMBOOT\FILE.LST" to remove a line of
"FILExx=XXXXXXX.XXX;1" to install less file, or replace any of the files in folder "..\SMBOOT"
with your prefer.
FILExx=XXXXXXX.XXX;1(XXXXXXX)

How to launch:
Put the memory card in slot 1 and boot SwapMagic3.6, if the program
"mc0:/SWAPMAGIC/SWAPMAGIC.ELF" is found and it will be launched automatically.
When the title screen appears (you will see 2 options Load Program and Video Mode on the
screen), you can press:
A. "UP+L1" buttons to load SMBOOT0.ELF
B. "UP+L2" buttons to load SMBOOT1.ELF
C. "UP+R1" buttons to load SMBOOT2.ELF
D. "UP+R2" buttons to load SMBOOT3.ELF
I did everything and then when I boot the swap magic disc after doing all of this, a Blue screen pops up and says "PC: Not Ready and Cable: Not Ready
I thought it should load regularly with the 2 options...what am I doing wrong? is my ps2 too old? I have the fat one

I dont get what you are trying to do...
So u want to put swap magic onto your memory card, so that you dont have to use your swap magic????
And if that is the case, then thats just stupid, because u will need to put swap magic in to the run the file anywayz??? And also you will need to find a swap magic elf file. But still beats the purpose really, cause your using swap magic to boot up swap magic..
Also from what I think you are doing. No you wont see the 2 options because I am guessing that smboot iso u downloaded, that will have the file named "swapmagic.elf" and so swap magic will automatically boot it. If it was renamed to SMBOOT0.ELF (Which you would have to edit the iso to do) then you would see the 2 options, and then u you can choose which file to run by pressing UP+L1 etc...

I'd just like to try it anyway, I dont get it, I mean it said on the package that it could load from memory card..and that I only needed to swap once...so whats the deal? anyway, the file that you mentioned is not there, here is what it looks like

I looked at what the site says, and it seems like you did it right. Maybe your Memory card does not have enough room to install??
I did not even know you could do this, but it is pretty cool. This is useful if you have 2 PS2 and 1 swap magic or if you just don't like swapping.
I will give it a try soon and see if I can get it to work. If, it does, I will let you know exactly how I did it, however, right now, I have a problem that my ps2 spindle is worn out (the rubber ring) and it will not boot Swap Magic....

i have swap magic 3plus, dunno if its 3.6. or anything or just standard 3 plus
but anyways, mine says u can do that too, if u work it out pm me let me know plz! i am reallllly keen to use this! :D

Yes, thats exactly what it does.
Although there are swap magic.elf files out there. SM3.3. So you could put them on. But kinda sux loading SM 3.6 to boot SM 3.3 :)
I have just downloaded this file to test it out.
And I didnt think it would boot off a memory card for a slimline. But aparently it does. SHOT.

So has anyone got this to work? I did everything that it says and I still have a Naplink screen that comes on and says Cable: not ready and PC: not ready? Please help...I do not know whats wrong and really new to this

The reason its showing that naplink is because it is automatically loading naplink elf file.
When you check out the file.lst file by opening it with notepad you will see this...

(Notice how swapmagic.elf is nap link, That means it will load that program automatically.)
You wont see the 2 options that it says you should, but if you load swap magic, and hold up+L1 or L22 etc, it will load one of the other elf files. E.g. cdloader etc.
That means this will not load swap magic from your memory card, it is made so that you can run an elf file from your memory card.

Well there are swap magic elf files out on the net , u will need to find them yourself.
Then you will have to somehow edit it into the iso file that you downloaded. like isobuster. Ive read up on the net that someone tried to do that, but wasnt working.
But it still beats the point of doing it really.
Because u will still need the swap magic cd/dvd, to load swap magic everytime from the mem card??????? Whats the point?
Its only good for loading other elf files like emulators, media players etc.

I guess I just read it wrong...I thought that I would have to swap it once and never have to do it again, because thats what it sed on the website
"You only have to swap the disc ONCE even with DVD games! Easy operation!"
I guess thats swap the disc once everytime you play..so just to clarify, so you can't load the swap disc program without the disc? thats dum cus I know it cant, unless theres a load option in the browser..
I'm just afraid if I keep swapping then the gears on the tray may get loose...
