Cannot burn DVD+R with sonic HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! me

I r having a problem burning a downloaded video to dvd with the sonic MyDVD wizard(v4)

First i click Transfer Video Direct to DVD from the menu.

THis takes me into the My DVD Direct to DVD wizard

i follow the steps and then i click next.
it comes up with a progress bar and on the progress bar it says

unknown device error - please check on device.

i am using a HP DVD writer 200i (200j in properties) with windows xp.

I assume the HP burner supports DVD+R?

I was having the same problem with Sonic My DVD......i tried to fix it but then i got a new program (Ulead DVD Movie Factory) and it worked fine and it was alot better.
