First of hello, and thanks to all of you here at A.D. I've been to this sit many time and off ten found the answer that I was looking for.

Now to the point I'm looking for the program named File2Iso.exe . I have seen threads here and chased them all over the world to find it. It is a simple stand alone program that has no software to install, dose not require that you have Nero or any other software or program to run it. It is not a large program in fact if you put it in your programs file and linked it to your desktop I think that link would be bigger that the program itself. Also it will make any file you put into it into an iso file not just TS Video and audio files I used to use it injunction with DvDDecrypter to transfer game mpegs text and what ever else i wanted on a playable dvd. I do know it out there for i used to have it. But do to system crash and the help of a friend who stopped by when I was repair, reconfiguring the placement of the drives and sound network and so on, I lost access to all that information. If any of you have a link to the website that made it (witch was in my bookmarks)or have a link to where I can get it I would be highly thank full. There is the possibility that I'm blind and can't see it here, lord know thats happens enough (like trying to find that damm lighter thats in your hand) and I just can not see it on the pages that A.D. said it was on.
as for part to (and the reason for this long winded text, dose anyone know if you can recover data off a hard drive that has a bent pin? One that the ribbon cable plugs into. If so do you know the name of the recovery software that will work?

I've never heard of the program you mentioned however as far as a hard drive with a bent pin, unless you can straighten the pin you won't be able to get the data off the drive. You should go ahead and try to somewhat straighten the pin (don't be afraid of damaging it by grabbing it, just don't pull it hard) and once you get it somewhat straight by reconnecting the IDE ribbon you should be able to use the drive as normal. If this friend of yours is the one who bent the pin, I would consider finding someone else to help with computer work in the future.

thanks, but I did try that already now that pin is setting beside the hard drive. The only real problem is that he did it wile I was in the restroom "Just trying to help out" 350gig 5 years of file vids programs and so on. (I think I'm going to cry :)). but what can you do? It's just my fate in life. the HD. is less than a year old the manufacturer said that they don't sell just the circuitboard and no retail sale. They did say that if the warranty covered it they just through it away and give me a new hd, and they also gave me a phone# for a company that will fix it. but they want $100.00.

That hurt to read... I lost 80 gigs recently and I'm still trying to recover everything. There are only a couple options at this point... you MAY be able to (a) open the hard drive and replace the pin or (b) use a solder and CAREFULLY attach a wire to the -broken?- pin then attach that to the appropriate connector on the cable. The other option you have is to fork out the 100 bucks to guarantee that you get the files back, but I'm a bit paranoid about sending MY data to another company.. Either way you look at it now, this may just have to be a "live and learn" situation....
