For some reason i want to know why my backups will work some times on my 360, and it wont work at all on my friends modded 360. I back up from the original, merge and use matrix dvds.

Maybe his firmware doesn't support Matrix DVD's. I've personally never heard of them. I'd use Verbatim if you can can them.

Matrix DVD's is the reason it won't work for you.
