I just got my Swap Magic Dvd and cd and slide card in the mail today. On the DVD version, which I am going to have to use, it says: Magic3 plus USA version 3.6
My PS2 model number is: SCPH-30001 R
It is not a Flip top.

Okay, so I put in my Magic3 plus DVD into the PS2, and then I push the restart button to boot the PS2 with the DVD. After I do that, the PS2 does it's normal loading thing and then really quickly goes black, then it shows the Playstation 2 title, and everything looks normal. Then, it shows me my memory card, and the cd that is currently in the PS2. So I push X Enter on the cd. It then, says Reading Disc... and then it just brings me right back to the same menu showing me my Memory card and the cd in the PS2.

IF I do the same thing, but without my Memory card inserted, I get the screen that says Playstation 2, but then it just goes to a black screen for 10 minutes... and nothing happens at all

What do I do? I am not getting the Swap Magic 3 boot screen! And it looks like nothing is working! please help!

Okay, and now, from the second part-where I booted with no memory card inserted:
I pushed the restart button on my PS2 after waiting 10 minutes on my black screen, and then it restarted and said No Data, and it's showing me the screen with the cd that's in the PS2 again.

yeah here i had the same problem when i first got mine. did you notice you didnt use the slide card at all?
1.first open the drive and power off the ps2 by using the back switch
2.un-screw the front of the dvd tray or if its a newer playstation (i think but not sure cause i have an old one) there is a kind of release button. (google it if you havent a clue what im on about)
3. plug everything back in.
4.put in swap magic and load it up.
5. when you get the "insert your own iso program" put the slide card into the dvd drive part about an inch from the left and slide it to the right. you hear a click and gently pull out the tray
6. put in your copy of the game, and push (physically) the tray back in.
7. this is the tricky part you have to put the slide card back in and hook the tray back into place. a small trick i developed is put it in normally on the left, slide to the right, lift towards you a tiny bit and to the right and push back away from you. now slide it to the left and you should (hopefully) hear the trsy go back into place.
8. simple, the you should know what region the game is
PAL is a europe game
NTSC is american
asuming your american a simple "x" will load an american game, if its PAL then go to mode and select "NTSC". YOU SELECT YOUR OWN REGION and press "square" (hmm i just noticed there is no button for "square" on the keyboard"
9. if your still having problems its to do with your Media (the type of dvd's ur using) go to the shop and but some "verbatiums"
NEVER USE DVD+/-RW playstations dont like them!! RW = BAD
or else its the torrent or the copy of the game. dont burn stuff bigger than 4.4GBs they dont usually work

ok i hope that helped

ok i think what i wrote was completely off the point now. if your disc doesnt give you the boot screen , the "please insert your own iso" screen the disc is basically fucked so ring up the ppl who sold it to you and demand a new one.

Creagh, stop thinking you know everything. Your posts has absolutly nothing to do with his problem.

As for you malibew, your disks arente Ps2 is the problem. My disks did the same thing on my friends Ps2. but worked flawlessly on mine. His ps2 is a slim, but old. His laser has gone bad and probably needs a new one. So thats probably your best bet. your laser.
I guarantee that your Swap Magic's are NOT the problem. Seeing that your Ps2 is an old on, it probably is your laser.

Peen!

hmm... that really sucks, if that's the problem- because I had that problem with the lens being bad already, and I sent it in to PS2 on the warranty and they fixed it free of charge. but they said that the next time, it would cost like $100.
is there any way I can tell for sure that the problem is with the laser? games work on my PS2 fine, so if the laser was bad, then wouldn't it not play games?

although, that was like 3 years ago when I sent it in to be fixed, so it's possible it could have gone bad again, and that prices to fix it have gone down. But, when I sent it in before and they told me the lens was not working, I could not play any games on the PS2...and right now, I can play games, just my Swap Magic won't boot.

Follow the guide here CAREFULLY

http://www.geocities.com/djyayo/faq.html

And this will clean your laser. Now, try your swap magic again, and if it still doesn't work, but all your other games are working fine, then I suggest getting another copy of Swap Magic.
