First I would like to start off by thanking everyone for for their patience and great responses. I am about to embark on flashing my Xbox 360 with a firmware hack. But now I have several questions that I don't seem to understand yet. I spent all last night reading through this and the xbox scene site but I am still a noob and quite confused. I got my hands on an Xbox 360 with a hitchi drive, but I haven't opened the case yet to find out what model I have exactly. Here are my questions:

1.Which is the bestand current flash that you guys recommend for my Hitachi drive? I got my hands on the Maximus-Garyopa stealth flash, but don't know if this is the one I should be using.

2.Can you rip and burn games through this Hitachi drive after it has been flashed? And do I have to open my xbox 360 every single time I want to rip a game? or is there an easier way to do this? I read in a previous post that only Samsung drives are able to rip games. What are some tools needed to rip.

3. I have the Pioneer dvd burner 111d would I have to change the firmware on this drive also in order for me to start buring like bitsetting?

4. Do I have to use a floppy disk to flash the hitachi or can i just run dos through the cmd prompt and do it manually from there?

5. Is the usb to sata adaptop one of the best method to flashing your drive? and would it be worth me purchasing this if I am not planning on updating my firmware often?

Thanks! any help is much appreciated!

i have a hitachi 47 drive in my xbox and i flashed with Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth. I cannot rip my own games as windows cannot see the game partition, so i now download the games i already own and burn them. so far i have dl 6 games and all play fine on the xbox360. obviously you need to seach for games that have been prepatched but most of them seem to be these days. as far as i'm aware you need to attach your xbox drive to the computer every time you want to rip your own games. to burn dl games i use dvd decryptor or imgburn - i've tried clone and often get errors reading the files - i've never had errors with the prementioned programs.

wow thanks for your quick reply. I am not too fond of just downloading my backups. I thought with the firmware flash I would be able to backup the games I already own. I mean it's a bit cumbersome to wait possibly days for just one game to download. Do you know if this is particular to just hitachi drives or all xbox 360 drives? I noticed there was a post on how to back up games, but I don't know if it's particular to a certain drive. I also pm you so if you have a chance please check it out. Thanks!

Files are way too big and it would take days for one game only. I would preffer to make backup of my current games.

I was searching for days and days to find a way to rip my own games and I was unsuccessful - in the instructions for the firmware it says it can be done - but like i said i couldn't and various people in the forums said there's no way - so i don't know. if anyone has had success praps they could post here.

get the samsung sh-d162c from vesalia computers=otherwise this is a hard to find object

this is the crown jewel because with v81 kreon firmware u insert a game u own and with xbox backup creator u can make a iso and dvd file, the dvd file u shall burn

requires no swapping or download of torrents
