How do I save a DVD movie onto my HDD ?

What can I use to save a DVD to my computer????? I want to edit the movie but how can I save it to my computer and make it a mpg or mpeg???????

what programs do you have as far as for copying a dvd? you could use DVD Decrypter, that should save to your hard drive, shrink might if it is a older movie you will need another program to get by the copy protection, you might try AnyDVD or dvd region + css free, hope this helps good luck have a nice day
