My sister desperatly wanted to play para para paradise so she ordered swap magic from one place and para para from ebay. We got the swap magic and got it working, didnt have any back ups to use but you can use the swap disc to load a regular game so everything seems like it is working. It took a month for her para to be mailed and now that we have it, it wont work.

We load it up take out the boot disk put it in and it starts spinning and the screen quickly turns black and just stays there. I thought maybe I could recopy it on my computer using alchol 120 but that wouldnt even be recognised as a PS2 disk.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to like rip the disc then rebuild it, would that help? Is there something we are just missing from making it work?

Thanks so much for any help

There are 2 questions need to be answered before I can try give the soltion.
1. What version of Swap Disc do you get?
2. What PS2 do you have fat ps2 or slim line?
My suggestion for your current status, try research more about it. who knows you might need a patch for the game too.

I opened it up and taped down the sensors, the system can run with the lid open all of the time and the swap magic loader can be used to load other original games.

I tried zone loader and that does the same thing. once you insert the disk it gives you a little screen flicker like it is going to load then just stays at a black screen.

there's a lot of people having the same problem lke your risght now.
I saw more than 4 threads, yet have no solution yet.
Let's try this way.
Try run an original dvd game. See if it runs. if it turns out show a black screen too, then something wrong with those tapes.
If it does that, take out all the tapes and try run an original dvd game again. If it runs perfectly then we know it's the tapes problem.
But if you run the game without the magic keys in and still turns outt black screen, I have no clue then.
I'll reply if i got any solution

But let me get this straight then.
You installed all the tapes.
you insert the swap magic in and turn your ps2 on.
the screen goes black, not even reached the "load cd" screet yet
I hope i catch your problem right, right??

no no no, swap magic loads up and I can choose PAL NTSC etc... and after I load swap magic I can put in an original disc and it loads. And I burned a copy of zoneloader and that will load. I really doubt it is hardware issue.

playing around with it and reading online it seems like it would be a situation where either the game is dumped on the computer and rebuilt some diffrent way (I've played around with doing this kind of stuff with dreamcast and Xbox 1 games so I have an idea but not what specificly to do with PS2), or the game needs to be patched (which is next to impossible to find a patch for a discontiuned japanese game), or I need a boot disk that WILL work with it. Where I go from here with any of these ideas is where Im stumped.
