I was trying to make a DVD-copy with nero, but the image file from the source DVD is 7mb too large to fit onto a DVD+RW.
I would like to crop it or have Nero overburn it somehow. That is such a tiny amount of data that it shouldn't matter.
I have been unsuccessful so far... does anyone how I can figure this out?
Thanks!

Have you tried compressing it with a compression tool? I wouldnt recommend trying to overburn no matter how small it is. Set your Nero Burning size to 4439MB and see if it allows you to burn that to the DVD.

Depends what his maximum DVD Burn is set to. If its set a 4300MB, then no problems, but if its set a 4429MB, i know that i couldnt get it to burn at 4430MB successfully.

No he wont come back and give Dela grief about it because all Dela said is it worked for him before and I see it as worth a try. If he read me saying "go to your kitchen, get a knife and stab yourself" and hje did it, aint my damn fault!

I can't get Nero to overburn a DVD. In the overburn settings it doesnt let me put more than 120 minutes in the box.
I tried both 5.5 and 6. What software can overburn a DVD+RW?

Its only by 7mb, my image doesnt fit by 7mb. thats why.
How would compression help? I wouldn't be able to burn it if I compressed it.

The question begs to be asked 'why did you make an .nrg image' ?
You would need to have cropped the original & not the image you have now...
Just for everyone's info here I successfully use Nero 5.5.10.42 to burn 4472mb*
Instead of asking 'Multi-session , Without Multi-seesion etc' it asks 'there is not enough room on this blank media-do you want Nero to finalize after burn' ... where you press YES : )
I have never had to set Nero higher than 120minutes or any such thing
2 pence worth !

The reason it is a .nrg is simple, I was making a direct copy (not on-the-fly) thinking that it was going to fit without any issues. I never noticed that it was that little bit too big. The file remained after Nero told me my disc didnt have enough space.

If you were using +R or -R it would probably burn okay (even if overburn is used)

Again, i dont recommend using overburn on any DVD R, not at the minute anyway. DVD's are very susceptible to any slight abberations so by purposely causing one, i think is pointless.
Herbsman, just done a movie at 4468MB successfully with Record Now Max

Well thats your opinion and of course it is respected! :-) I dont mind overburning, sure is better than trying to cut away a few mb's

Both my burners : Ricoh 8x8x32 CD-RW & Pioneer 104 DVD-RW support over-burn aswell as Nero giving that option..
Maybe people should always check thier hardware if they have any quandries about over-burning.
And of course there is obviously a limit to doing so : )
[I'm still finding it quite funny that we're all discussing such matters here when all we're talking of is 7MB] LMAO

Now how do you know that it did not leave off gigs more.
I mean say that the DVD was 9gigs but Nero just stopped once it reached the limit on blank, sure the file left may be JUST 7mbs over limit it does not mean that it is the WHOLE disk image.

Well for one thing, as far as I know Nero first makes a complete image, then procedes. Second, I looked at the disk before starting so I knew its size and thats why I thought it would fit.
I've had to reinstall everything recently so I havent progressed on this at all. Right now I have the image on a virtual drive, from which I'll just rip it differently or something.
