I've searched around on the forum for awhile now and have yet to find the answer I'm looking for.
My roomate bought an xbox awhile back and it is modded.
He nor I know how i was modded. Soft or Hard
Is there a way to tell without cracking open the case.
I know its modded cuz halo 2 is on the hdd in french (um i don't speak french so it wasn't us)
I know is has Evolution X 393 that is all i saw when i start the system without a game in there.
I want to know how to save a game on the HDD. I don't want to copy it, just save it on the hdd so I can play it without having to own the game (friends game).
I've looked around in all the menus and i can't find anywhere to actually click copy.
Any help would be great. Anything you need to know.. ask

Get a Slayers disc or AID 3.0, the apps you want to install are on those, the automatically install them to your menu too!

Slayers or AID 3.0 are both Xbox boot discs! You can download them via torrents! Get one, I recommend AID and boot it in your xbox. A nice little menu will popup that a 4 year old can comprehend and install away!

Go to the EvoX dash, and go to settings or something, and try to see what kind of chip you have. It should say somewhere what is installed to the system. To copy games to the HDD, you will need a program like DVD2Xbox. You can get it in #xbins. Also get an FTP program like FlashFXP. Once you get all of this done, I should be able to help you more.

In the file of DVD2Xbox, their should be a file that ends in .xbe. That is the DVD2Xbox, program that will be used on the Xbox. Just take the whole DVD2Xbox file from your computer and FTP it over. Did you make a folder in your F:/ like Apps or something? Cause you are going to need to make a folder called Apps in your F:/ drive, and then put the DVD2Xbox in there. Then you can go to your Dashboard, and go to Applications, and it should be right there.

In the DVD2Xbox folder there should be a file named default.xbe. That is the .xbe file that you need. You can't just get that one file by itself, it comes with the DVD2Xbox software. Look for the default.xbe.

Do you want to know how to get a bigger HDD? There is this website:
http://xboxdrives.x-pec.com/?p=list
It will tell you of different HDD's that are compatable with the Xbox. What I did was went to: http://www.dealdetectives.com and searched for cheap HDD's. I got a 200GB Maxtor HDD, at Staples for 50 bucks. I then checked the website at the top, to see if it was compatable. It was so I just took out the old HDD, and put this one in. I then had to flash it. Once it was flashed, I put a Dash on it, and it works great. And I have a lot of room for stuff.
