Ok, i posted before but no one answered, so ill post again.

I got a DUO 2 SE modchip installed about a year ago, and just recently it stopped working. First problem was it didnt load any of my backups, but original still worked. So i opened it up and inspected the cables and solders, all fine, put it back and somehow works again

Then it stopped working again, i open again and works again

Third time it stopped again, but instead of opening, i unplugged everything and left it for a week, thinking it might be electrical discharge problem. Didnt work, so i opened, inspected, closed again and works.

FOURTH AND FINAL TIME: it stops, i gave up opening and closing, spedning 30 mins each time and need a solution to the problem without buying a new modchip, since it may damage the board even more as if the first time wasnt bad enough. Any solutions will be appreciated. Even a reply

It may be a lose solder or a cross solder, or maybe the chip is dying, I'll look into it for you, but dont count on it as I am very busy lately.

thanks for trying to help out, but im pretty sure theres no loose solder, since when i pull on a couple wires, it seems pretty secured, but can u explain the cross solder? is that just when the solder touches in more places than it should? cause it did work for a good year

A cross solder would be when two points are accendentaly soldered. It could be that the ps2 is old and is dying, or as I said the modchip its self. Maybe one of the wires is dead or your laser (disc reader) is dying. I have a fat ps2 that when the laser died i just got the slim one.
