After months of trials and tribulation I finally came up with this system...

Items needed:
TV tuner card (I use Phillips PCI SAA7130 under $20)
Nero suite (Came bundled with tuner card)

avi2dvd by trustfm (Freeware)
http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.html

SolveigMM_AVI_Trimmer_1_2_beta.zip (freeware)
http://www.solveigmm.com/?Products&p=AVITrimmer

Stoik Capturer(Freeware)
http://www.download.com/Stoik-Capturer/3...47.html?tag=pub

Lots of drive storage space...75-100 gigabytes minimum (I have 600 gigabytes)

The capture software that came with the tuner card is trash..don't bother to install it!

Step 1:
Install all the free stuff above plus the capture card and drivers..In a smaller (1 gigabyte}partition on your drive

Step 2:
In your largest (Hopefully empty) drive partition make a folder named "Movies"

Step 3:
Wait for movie you want to save and before it starts make a subfolder under your "Movies" folder
with the name of movie your going to record.

Step 4:
Open the Stoik Capturer and tune to the movie channel you want..Click on "Capture to AVI"
Set compression to "No Recompression"
In the "Base filename" box browse to the folder you made and set it..
In the "Multifile split size" box set it to "Unlimited capture file"

Step 5:
When movie starts click the "record" button and relax and watch the movie or something else on your TV...
When movie is over click on finish and close the capturer, your done with that for awhile..

PHASE 2:

Open the Solvigmm AVI trimmer guide at:
http://www.solveigmm.com/files/USG_AVITrimmer.pdf
Read it and save it to your documents..
The program is easy to learn but just remember when you mark out the commercials and have clicked on "add" when your done to click on "Invert" so it will save the movies and not the commercials..
Click "Run" and when it is done you will have a commercial free AVI file..

PHASE 3:

Go here for the guide on using avi2dvd:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/avi_to_dvd_avi2dvd.cfm

Use the "HCEnc" encoder for best result..
Set profile to good for one pass (About 6 hours) or Best for 2 passes (About 12 hours) for 2 hour movie to encode.
"Matrix" set to "mpeg"
Best to do this when you go to bed so it will be done by morning!!

PHASE 4:

Use Nero express using the "DVD Video files" option..Open the video TS folder created by avi2dvd

highlite all the files add and burn them..

Tips:
Don't multitask during capture or any of the encoding processes...You don't need any interference!

Burn to good media, not the generic stuff..
Have fun, don't get frustrated and remember it only cost you some time! Once you learn to use the software it's very easy!
