Hi,

I've got a V5 PS2 SCPH-30003 R which comes up with the brilliant Disc Read Error (DRE). Now i've found lots of guides and i've tried adjusting the big white cog - no luck. I then resat that back to its original position and started asulting the little screw on top of the arm connecting the laser onto the sliding rods - no luck. So i then hear about adjusting laser voltages.

Heres my question. How do you exactly "fine tune" this bugger? There are 3 variables - white cog, screw, voltages - which do i adjust first and when do i know that setting is correct before adjusting the next?

Oh also is there a way to access the voltages easier using this model of the PS2. I know with the older models you could actually reach the screws that adjust the voltage while the PS2 was running, however with the model im using, im having to remove the entire laser assembly, adjust, and then reconnect ribbon cables etc. This is an extremly long process especially since incriments on these settings should be small.
