I don't have a chip... I use swap magic and I didn't have anykind of problem with this game... So, with a chip the game should work perfectly... Maybe the problem is on the game, or on the data used to burn the game....
But I'm not the best person to answer that question... I use swap magic and I'm not an expert on chip's subject....

I am also having problems with this game. I have a Magic V mod chip and I have a lot of problems with newer games. This game constantly skips entire video scenes, for example an intro logo or FMV will play for a few seconds and then it will skip the video as if you pressed start. This also happens during the start screen and will randomly lock up the game. The actual gameplay works fine though, it's just the cinematics.
I have tried doing a direct copy with Alcohol 120, rebuilding normally, rebuilding and relinking files and nothing has worked. Maybe there are certain files that need to be deleted and replaced because some of the names are funny like DATAOLAY.BIN and DNASOLAY.BIN.
And before anyone says it is bad media I only use RITEK G-05 or Taiyo Yuden. These older mod chips have a lot of problems with recent games.

CORRECTION: Apparently I got a bad burn on the initial ritek non-rebuilt image because there are circular deep scratches that I think was causing the skipping, and since all my other burns were on a PRINCO DVD-RW those did not work because of bad media.
The finished image that worked was rebuilt with ExPERT_v106_Beta and then I relinked the files and patched the DNAS with Windip, but I think this was skiping videos entirely due to bad media or bad Burn.

If it's a .iso image you can burn it using:
- Nero
- Alcohol 120%
- CloneDVD2
When you have problems burning a game, you should try burning it using another program.
Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

Hi flex82
Thanks for the tip
Have you successfully backed up Marvel ultimate allaince (MUA) using all of these methods ?
Why won't decrypter work ?
Clonedvd2 for ps2 back up ? This is news to me.
Anybody else got any other suggestions ?
Alcohol120% - what version too ?

CloneDVD2 ? I've never heard of this method is it like Decrypter ?
As for my reservations:
CloneDVD? 2
CloneDVD 2 copies movies to create unparalleled picture quality DVD backups, whether it?s the main title you?re copying or the complete DVD. CloneDVD will compress long footage at high speed to the highest of quality using specialised transcoding technology, allowing you to select your audio and language settings and also the final target size. Easy for even the novice user, CloneDVD?s intuitive Filmstrip assistant guides you through all the available configuration settings, allowing you to choose which chapters to include and offering the option to trim individual chapters.
It mentions nothing about games ?

I burned MUA, but it plays in black and white. I switched over to God Hand, and it plays fine, so I know it's not my system, any suggestions?
I'm using DVD Decrypter and MagicSwap 3.6.

just successfully backed up by copy of Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
Used DVD Decrypter
but burned the DVD_R using a trial version of clonedvd2
Recorded at 2x to a ritek G02
People you can't be too careful about using the correct media
Try Taiyo Yuden's - shiny silver top DVD-R
They never fail and ps2's love them
G05's are too hit and miss for ps2 back ups these days
