hi, i have recently bought an xbox that was already chipped and modded and has evo x installed on it, but the copy of dvd2xbox always freezes, so what i have done is installed unleash x to a different drive and opened and also installed a different version of dvd2xbox on it. i then backed up a game to the same drive iu installed unleash x on, now i cant find the game to play it. but my main concern is this: i tryed to install AID over the top of all of this junk, but when i try to use aid to format hdd and froze up for a second then it acted as though nothing was wrong,but it didnt format anything then when i restared the xbox it said warning blah blah dashboard not loaded dvd drive not loaded and all this, all i wanna do is wipe this hdd clean and install aid, please help

also if it helps the error code is 16
5.9 HDD Error
10-12 DVD Error
13 Dashboard could not be launched
14 Generic Dashboard was launched but failed
16 Dashboard files/settings incorrect
20 Dashboard was launched but failed
21 Generic unspecified error

yea what is happening is 2 dashboards are trying to boot at the same time,i need to know what chip you have or if you just have a softmod...

it definatly plays backed up discs / burnt discs whatever you wanna call it and runs with XUCUTER but i have no way of finding out even if i open it up and im not sure what im looking for to tell you what mod chip it has, i am trying to get in touch with the previous owner but he on holidays, is there anything else i might try to format this drive and start from scratch or is it impossible without this information?

does AID still boot? and are there any external switches on the xbox,for the modchip?

AID was booting untill i reset it, now all i get is that error. No external switches on it, can i just take hdd out and format in my pc then run AID again?

the chip should overwrite any error and boot AID are you sure you dont have a softmod?

Sorry for giving you such shit information but im not really sure what is inside this xbox, :( i have AID 3 final and little resources at the moment as i am currently shaped GRRRRRR.... im desperate lol i have the xbox open if that helps?

Well to check if you have a chip you will need to take out the DVD Drive and it should be under there, if you have nothing under the dvd drive then you probably have a softmod..and will now need a modchip or hotswap to fix this problem...

Well you should download the slayers evox auto installer 2.6 (2.7 has many bugs) and then you can rebuild (format and install) evox on your xbox.

i can get it chipped for the cost of the chip but my mate is overseas, whats the risk factor?? honestly i will try to hotswap but is the % like 50/50 or like 1 in 5 might work? lol

We'll unless you can take the chip out of the chipped box and place it in the broke xbox...then there is nothing else that can be done...
