i have 1 ide cable but enough pins and power connectors for two drives
i have my samsung dh162c as slave
and i had my other nec burner as master
when i removed the nec and put in the pioneer my computer said in boot mode that only one drive was available and im thinking my harddrive is master so what do i set my pioneer to ther is 5 settings

If I were you I would try setting both drives to cable select rather than master. You should probably setup your hardrive as master. But if you're having problems just set it up as cable select. Sometimes setting drives as master slave on the same ide chain can give problems. Hope it helped.

I was having that problem with mine, tring to use cable select. I ened moving my Samsung from master to slave. Before doing that my bios couldnt see it, but soon as I put as master all has been good. The 111d does not like being the slave, mine was running slllooow.

right easyway to do this is there are 2 ide prts in the main board use
ide port 1 for only hard drives 2 ide ports for cd dvd drive better
performance that way thats how u set it up

hard drive 1st 1 master 2nd slave no cable select same with dvdrom drives
