Annyway knos if the LG burner (H20N and GSA4167) can burn a cdr as good a quality as a cd burner? Or are cd burners suppose to burn cdr better tan dvd burner? I thought I notice the cdr burned on a cd burner looked better (in quality image) than the one burned on a DVD burner......Any comments?

the burner you use will make no difference on the end product. it's media and encoding that make the difference.

I burn on the fly n all the vcds are not copyrighted. So a dvd burner will read n write/burn with EXACT end result? If so,
I have a Samsung CD burner,Hitachi DVD Rom, LG H20N, LG GSA4167.
Can I have 2 burners (LG) on my drive or should I have have one burner and one dvd rom.

burning on the fly is not smart. it leads to all sorts of possible errors/problems.

it doesn't matter if you have two burners or a rom and a burner; for the longest time, i had two: one burned all the time, and one acted as both a burner and a rom. a rom will typically read faster--that's the only real difference.

Hmm, what kind of errors? My vcds all were ok except dvds, occasionally went crazy. If Im not burning on the fly, should I then save in HD as 'image", then burn the "image". Is that a safer way? Thks

skipping, stuttering, other errors. transferring video at the high rates required by burning on-the-fly tends to make the computer somewhat unstable.

you can save an image, but you can also just rip and reburn the files in whatever format they are on the disk in. i highly recommend you read some of the guides stickied in the forums.
