Really Need Help With Hd Advanced 3.0

hey i have had my hd advanced for ages now, but usualy i get my mate to add my games that he downloads from the internet and adds via his pc, now i wanna back up some games that i already have, i have added them to my hd advanced list but wen i try to run them they dont work, i have been told to highlight the game and press select to change the mode, however wen i do this it doesnt say anything about mode 1 2 or 3, just things like, slow hdd access, disable DVD9 support and kill hda after launch, along with about 5 other options, i was just wondering how i could change the mode, as i have scarface and canis canem edit that i wanna put on my hard drive before i have to give them back to a mate. PLEASE HELP, ANY REPLIES WOULD BE GRATEFULL, KINDA URGENT. THANKS

The first option is Mode 1, the 2nd - mode 2, etc... Press 'X' to toggle between enabled and disabled.

Canis Canem Edit works fine for me without any modes enabled.

Also scarface dosent work only if you have a patch.....
