trying to fix messed up installation of Magic Key II

So I'm attempting to repair my friend's horrible attempt at modding his PStwo slim v15 console.

He bought one of those Magic Key non-soldering solutions but was unable to get one of the pieces installed. He opened the case to tape down the button/switch that detects whether or not the lid is closed. Instead of taping it down, he tried to super-glue a piece of plastic over the switch... which did not work and the disc would no longer spin (meaning the lid was being detected as open). So he tried removing the piece of plastic, but it took off the top lid of the switch. He then super-glued the actual switch, which when depressed closes the circuit on the board by connecting the conductive traces on the board.

Basically, the switch is just connected to two thin pieces of conductive tin/metal which connects the traces on the board together when you press down the switch.

I don't have any soldering experience, but I figure this won't be too difficult of a job. Basically, I figure I need to pry off the switch from the board and solder the conductive traces together.

However, I don't see and solder points on the traces. Can I just solder the two traces together using a wire? How do I connect two traces on the system board if there aren't any specific solder points?
