good evening all -
ive got an older ps2, HDLoader and swap magic via this ultimate collection disc, which has other programs ive yet to figure out how to use.
thing is, the ps2 (from ebay, natch) plays fine, but its slightly picky with said ultimate disc - ive got to put a certain amount of pressure on the lid to make sure it loads that disc and gets to the options menu where i can use swap magic. sometimes, this happens on the first try; tonight for example, it took about 10.

aside from replacing the ps2 one day (otherwise its working fine), is there another method to boot into swap magic? ive seen threads on how to make memory card exploits but i dont know if that'd help me here. If it does, or anyone has another idea, please let me know - im slightly new to all this, but ive got the HDLoader/Swap Magic/backup games thing working fine, anyway.
As always, thanks in advance for any help offered.

Well, it sounds like he either has the fliptop installed wrong or just got a cheap one. I have heard of it happening to others where they had to put a little pressure on the lid to get discs to load.

A memory card exploit i do not think would solve that. Even if it did take the place of having to swap, the PS2 would still need to be able to read the disc you want to play.

i think its more the ps2 than the flip top, i bought it used on ebay and mightve been slightly (physically) damaged, but it plays just fine.

again, the only issue is the loading of the swap magic disc itself. once im in the menu, any game i put in plays just fine, no holding down the top or any of that; its just from the initial PS2 boot sequence to loading said swap magic disc.
you think the memory card exploit'd get around this issue, then?
