Does it matter -r or +r? Also the x4 or x16 does that make any difference?

Using s/w 3.6 on a slimline ps2 scph 75003.

i would go with an 8X DVD-R
That will be your safest bet
4X is too slow, and some people have problems with 16X

if you have a slimline then DVD +R will work better and load smoother/faster with less wear on the laser IF you burn them bitset as DVDROM.

Rip with dvdcrypter and burn with same setting the bit type as dvdrom in same program with 8x verbs / ty or Sony 16 x acucores.
Skip the 16x verbs and tayios they really are pants on anything above a V12

This is the best by far option especially for games that burn near the edge.
