Hi. I am having an issue with XBox Live. In particular, Halo 2. It was working fine, and I have made NO changes. But all of a sudden, it is riddled with problems.
1. All of a sudden I will be in a completely different place from where I was. I will be in the open field walking and all of a sudden I am walking into a wall.
2. Mid play, the screen turns to the blue screen saying "Please wait.. setting up game." Happens at least half a dozen times during one game on LIVE.
I have no idea what the issue is.. I tried changing the ethernet cable. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

is the game on a disc or hard drive?
Is it a back up or an original copy.
They only time i have heard of an error like this it was usually one of a few things
1. the disc is dirty or scratched
2. you made a back up on cheap media or with the wrong burning speed.
3. your laser either needs cleaning or adjusting
4. your laser is starting to go dead
Same thing use to hapen on my PS2 when i needed to clean the laser.
On GTA i would be driving and the road ahead of me would go all blue, or i could not see all the things that were there, like walls.
It was the laser trying to keep up with the game and due to it being dirty it could not.

Oh man. Thanks for the reply. It is an original Halo 2 disc. Everything is original, no mods at all. I hope you're right about it being the disc. I really don't want to buy a new XBox system.
How do I adjust/ clean the laser? Thanks!

UPDATE... I played one game, it was fine. No problems at all. But the very next game, same issue. So I watched the connection meter and its in the red... so I stand still for awhile and it goes back up... randomly back down again. There has to be some sort of solution for this.
Can it be because a scratched disc??

so you have made NO changes at all to either the PC or Xbox?
1.Are you using a crossover cable or wireless adapter?
2.Have you tried another crossover cable, if tthat is what you use, to see if it is the problem?
3. If you are wireless and using a wireless router and gaming adapter, are you sure that no one has changed the security settings on the router? This could also cause a connection to fade in and out as the gaming adapter would have the wrong security information enetered and would not connect properlt.
Give as much information as you can and i am sure someone can help you solve it.

Hi. I have made absolutely zero mods.
1. I am using an ethernet cable.
2.Yes, I tried a new cable as well.
3. I checked my Linksys routers settings, no changes have been made. And I am the only person using the computer and router.
Thanks again for the help.

Well its not the disk then... I know you said that your connection is usuallly red on live and that you NOT using a wireless router.. and your not bridging the connection so try to restart your router.(Though you have probably already have done this) Un plug the power cord in the back of the router for 20 seconds then plug it back in. Also try buying a different router, make sure you buy the right one and you can buy these at a circut city or best buy.
