I'm impressed. Great for a launch day release, prob not on the level of gears of war but surely that will come.

yeah i noticed that aswell. gears of war got a 9.4 and most editors said it was the best looking game they had ever seen, but resistance looks good too, if i remember correctly they said, resistance does not have to be perfect b/c its just so much fun, or something like that.
but anyways i was looking forward to comparing the reviews of both games, and i am kinda happy gears of war came out on top (just buy going on the review rating) b/c it shows the ps3 fans that xbox 360 can keep up with ps3, well for now anyways.
PS3 specs may look better than xbox 360 but i am yet to see a game on the PS3 that looks better than any of the top end xbox 360 games such as gears of war, mass effect and halo 3.

I dont there is really gonna be much between the systems at least not for a couple of years anyway.
The only advantage I can see if with the extra space capacity use for in game footage, music, more pixels etc.
Could take a while before they can really utilise all that stuff though with the processsors especially.
I am gonna see how the launch games rate and then may buy a 360 for now as the PS3 doesnt come out here till March and is a bloody joke of a price 500 pounds! prob about 900+ US

i am deffinatly getting a ps3, but also like yourself i can not get it till it releases in march or somethiong, till then i am more than happy with the games that xbox 360 has and will get soon. also the zelda on the wii looks awesome.

i like how gears of war looks and plays. not sure why but i love that damn commercial too, the song was a great choice for the ad. gears is the 360s first real killer app, and it took about a year for owners to see one. dead rising and saints row are ok, but nothing compared to gears in my mind.
i am not saying resistance is better or even on par with gears, but i think it is comforting to know that the ps3 has a very respectable title and although it may not be a "killer app," it is one that is far ahead of most typical Launch Titles that we general see. i am not surprised by the review they gave and considering its only a launch title, i can't wait to see what the games will be like after the ps3 has had a year under its belt.
@sprit0ln in the US the ps3 costs $499/$599, $900+ is a bit off

Tell you what I will be selling several PS3s on ebay and I will ship anywhere in the world for the right price
I think the price will be $1500-2500 USD plus shipping
wait a week or so on ebay and the price should stay about 1500 but stay away the first week unless you have so cash to lay out

not sure about that but the whole game is 16gb, which is unprecedented for a game.
@hade-gamespot gave gears of war a 9.6, but as you said, ign gave it a 9.4. so if you wanna find the mean, then i guess it gets a 9.5

i think that was too soon to rate it lol what about the multyplayer mode ,that would be a big sellin point of the game as well since nobody really is battlin online yet

the guy meant what it will be in pounds which then converted over to dollars is about 900.

well originally i read it and he said 9.4 and then was corrected, but i assumed he was referring to IGNs reviews as the thread was related to resistance and their IGN score. anyway nothing big, but as far as the conversion goes i am not sure what difference it makes saying the ps3 costs would be $900+ just because it costs 500 pounds over there. no one can really do a direct conversion on things otherwise, would it be any different if i said; the ps3 costs $600 in the US so that would be like 350 pounds??? actually now it sounds pretty cheap!! so, is that not the same difference?

ahh yes, BUT gears is the 360s first real killer app and it took about 1 year to come to life, resistance on the otherhand is a Launch title. let's comeback and discuss graphics, sound, presentation and such when MGS hits the shelves, as i think at that point the ps3 will have surpassed the 360 in most any category. most journalists or those writing the reviews state gears is a game that really shows what the 360 can do, for some reason i feel Resistance is merely just a taste or glimpse at what the ps3 has to offer. now that is pretty exciting...
