I have been trying for a while to rip streamed video files. I want to be able to rip and save video files played in realplayer or other streamed video files that cannot be saved. Ultimately I want to upload these video files into Adobe Premiere for editing. Is there a popular program that I haven't found which would let me do this?

man is something to be overcome, what have you done to overcome him?

You need two programs in order to rip streaming videos. The first is URL Snooper. It's used in order to get the URL of the video you are trying the download and it's free (the donation is completely optional).

The second is Net Transport. It's a download manager that can download video streams, but unfortunately it's shareware, so after the trial is up, you have to buy it to continue using it.

http://www.xi-soft.com/

First install them both. Then configure URL Snooper by selecting your network adapter in the Options section tab and selecting "Simplify All" in the drop down box under the search tab. Then click "Sniff Network" and it will start sniffing looking for a video stream, so now open your browser and start playing the video. You should see URLs starting to appear in URL Snooper, now pick the one that's the URL of your video, (BTW URLs are just web addresses if you didn't know already), right click on it and select copy. Now open up Net Transport, and select "New" under the Download tab, paste the video's URL in the box marked "URL" and click OK. You should see the video start to download and when it's finished, just double click it so it will play in your default player.
That's it, and the video will be saved in the C:\ folder, but you can always change it to save in a different location if you want.
